Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Introduction
EDK Services Ltd ("the Company") is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to preventing these practices within our operations and supply chains.
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we have taken during the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
Our Structure and Business
EDK Services Ltd, operates primarily in the jewellery industry, supplying products and services that involve the use of precious metals. We source materials and components from suppliers in the UK, Europe, and Asia.
Our business operations also rely on general support services such as marketing, logistics, and postal and courier services.
Our Commitment and Policies
We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our business or supply chains. Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy is part of our broader Code of Conduct and reflects our core values of transparency, respect, and ethical practice.
Key elements of our policy include:
- Zero tolerance of modern slavery in all its forms.
- Clear guidance for employees and suppliers on ethical behaviour and compliance expectations.
- A commitment to reviewing and improving our processes and controls.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
To assess and manage the risk of modern slavery, we implement the following measures:
- Policy Awareness: All staff are made aware of our Modern Slavery Policy and trained to identify potential risks.
- Supplier Screening: We evaluate suppliers based on their adherence to ethical standards, including compliance with labour and human rights laws.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Where applicable, we require suppliers to demonstrate compliance through certification, audits, or adherence to recognised industry standards.
- Reporting and Whistleblowing: We encourage reporting of any concerns via confidential channels and are committed to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation.
Supply Chain Oversight
Our supply chains include both direct product suppliers and indirect service providers. We expect all our suppliers to comply with our ethical standards and to confirm that they, and their own supply chains, are free from modern slavery and human trafficking.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that the fight against modern slavery is ongoing. We will continue to develop our processes to strengthen risk mitigation and ensure compliance with all relevant legal and ethical obligations.
